Priority 4-star target names South Carolina football on his list of favorites
Jordon Gidron, a South Carolina football prospect, selected the Gamecocks to his list of favorite programs.
The South Carolina football team has two commitments in the class of 2026 (down from three recently after 4-star quarterback Landon Duckworth backed out of his Gamecock promise). Rodney Colton, a 4-star linebacker, and Anthony Baxter, an in-star offensive lineman, are the two prospective Gamecocks already in the class, but USC has made measures to set themselves in a strong position with numerous other talents in the 2026 cycle.
Jordon Gidron, a wide receiver, is one of South Carolina’s top targets in the class. Gidron, a consensus 4-star recruit at Columbia, is one of the nation’s most sought-after pass catchers. However, according to Gidron, his hometown school is at the center of his recruitment efforts.

Jordan Gidron reduced his favorite schools list to 12 on Friday. The South Carolina Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, NC State Wolfpack, Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke Blue Devils, Tennessee Volunteers, and Miami Hurricanes have all differentiated themselves in Gidron’s recruiting.
As a player, the Ridge View High School product has the potential to be a standout in college. Gidron has been an outstanding downfield danger in high school, because to his size (listed at 6’2″) and speed (he has won many state track and field titles). With two more years of prep baseball (and physical development) before he makes it to college, the sky is the limit for him.
Gidron is more than simply a straight-line sprinter and jump ball player; he has good quickness, and there are numerous times on tape where his change-of-direction abilities resulted in a major play. If he gains some weight, Gidron will look quite similar to a more polished version of Xavier Legette (who was mostly a high school quarterback) coming out of high school. Putting potential first-round pick expectations on Gidron would be unfair, but he has a tremendous upside.
