The luxury travel scene in Riviera Cancun is about to get a major shake-up. Royalton Hotels & Resorts has officially announced that it will assume management of two premier properties – Royalton Riviera Cancun and Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun – beginning December 7, 2025.

The announcement comes on the heels of a multi-million-dollar renovation project aimed at transforming the resorts into a next-generation, modern all-inclusive experience. The refresh includes upgraded guest rooms, redesigned restaurants and lounges, enhanced wellness and fitness spaces, and new entertainment offerings designed to appeal to today’s luxury traveler.

Both resorts, previously part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, are positioned as two of the Riviera Maya’s most popular destinations for couples, families, and group travelers seeking upscale beachfront escapes. With Royalton Hotels & Resorts taking the reins, guests can expect the brand’s signature features, including world-class dining, elevated butler services, and Royalton’s award-winning All-In Luxury® concept.

Company executives say this move represents a significant step in Royalton’s continued expansion across Mexico and the Caribbean. “We are excited to bring Royalton’s elevated approach to hospitality to Riviera Cancun,” said a Royalton spokesperson. “These resorts have long been favorites for travelers, and our vision is to take them to the next level with fresh design, innovative culinary experiences, and personalized service that reflects the Royalton standard.”

Travel industry experts see this management change as a sign of the growing competition among high-end all-inclusive brands. Riviera Cancun remains one of the most in-demand vacation spots for North American travelers, and a refreshed Royalton presence could attract a wave of new guests seeking modern amenities and curated luxury.

Guests with reservations past the December 7 transition date will automatically receive the upgraded Royalton experience, with no disruption to existing bookings. Royalton is also expected to launch special reopening packages and promotions to celebrate the relaunch, giving travelers early access to the renovated spaces.

With the new leadership and upgraded facilities, the Royalton Riviera Cancun and Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun are poised to re-establish themselves as two of the premier all-inclusive destinations in Mexico’s hotel corridor, promising an unforgettable mix of relaxation, fine dining, and Riviera Maya adventure.
