đź”” Cyclone Off-Field Update: Seeking Advice for Player Facing Public Intoxication Charge

Cyclone Nation — looking for some guidance from anyone who’s navigated this kind of situation before.

One of our guys found himself in a tough spot last week. After a night out, he ended up in a dorm bathroom where campus police got involved. Long story short: instead of going to the hospital, he was taken into custody and spent the night in jail. No prior run-ins with the law — just a young guy who made a mistake and didn’t know how to handle the moment.

Now he’s facing a public intoxication charge, with a court date this Wednesday.

We’re trying to make sure he gets the right support and representation. Has anyone had experience with the student legal aid office? Is it solid enough for a situation like this, or should we be looking at getting a private attorney involved?

Any experience, advice, or direction would be hugely appreciated. Just trying to get this student back on track — both in the classroom and on the field.

Thanks,
