“Halloween Time” runs from August 22 through October 31, 2025 at Disneyland Resort. Magic Key holders are getting a head-start, with some offerings kicking off even earlier, beginning August 17 in some cases.
These seasonal events include decorations, special food, entertainment, merchandise, attraction overlays, and after-hours events. There are several layers:
•Themed decorations & ambience across both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
•Special overlays on rides/attractions (for instance, Haunted Mansion Holiday) and events like “Plaza de la Familia” that celebrate Día de los Muertos.
•Halloween-specific food/drink, merchandise, and atmosphere throughout the Resort and its hotels.
Magic Key passholders have exclusive or early access to some of these things. Below are the details.
What’s Currently Available for Magic Key Holders (August 17 – Sept 30, 2025)
Here are the perks and events that Magic Key holders can access now, or that have recently begun, during this early part of the Halloween season (through September 30):

Magic Shot (Photo Opportunity) Daily from August 22 through September 30, 2025, between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM A special photo spot in New Orleans Square featuring Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, with photos provided digitally. Complimentary digital download for Magic Key holders (i.e. no extra charge for the digital version) during those hours.
Halloween Merchandise Starting August 22, 2025 New Magic Key-exclusive or Magic Key discounted items, e.g.: “Happy Halloween Magic Key Shirt,” “Haunted Mansion Magic Key Shirt,” Hatbox Ghost Pin, etc. Key Holders enjoy their usual passholder discount on merchandise; some items might be exclusive to or first available to Magic Key-holders.
These offerings are already rolling out, so Magic Key holders can start making plans to enjoy these benefits immediately.
What’s Coming Up or Continues into Late September / Early October
Beyond the already available perks, several more events and experiences are in place or will ramp up as we move past September. Many run through October, but fall under the broader umbrella of what Magic Key holders should keep watch for.
•Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
This is an after-hours event at Disney California Adventure on select nights from August 17 through October 31, 2025. Key Holders have pre-sale access to tickets (Magic Key presales start June 24-25 for certain tiers) before general public ticket sales. The party includes special Treat Trails, immersive Villains Grove, parade, themed décor, etc.
•Plaza de la Familia
A Día de los Muertos-inspired celebration at Disney California Adventure from August 22 through November 2, 2025. Features live entertainment (“Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia”), Mexican-inspired cuisine, crafts, art displays, a memory wall, and photo ops. Key Holders benefit by having access like other guests, sometimes with discounts and special merch.
•Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay & Halloween Spectaculars
The Haunted Mansion gets its seasonal overlay (Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas characters) during Halloween Time. There are also evening shows like “Halloween Screams” featuring projections, special effects, sometimes fireworks on select nights.
•Special Food & Beverage Items / Restaurants & Hotels
The Halloween season brings themed snacks, seasonal treats (e.g. new jalapeño-cream cheese bread), returning favorites (such as Oogie Boogie lemonade). Also special offerings at the hotels of Disneyland Resort: treat trails, themed room/day decorations, characters in costume, seasonal décor & photo opportunities.
•Resort-wide Merch, Décor and Atmosphere
Decorations, pumpkins, lighting, ambient theming, character costumes, etc., going across the parks and hotels. New Halloween merchandise collections will continue to roll out.
Special Perks & Dates for Magic Key Holders
Magic Key holders don’t just get to show up—they often get first looks, early access, exclusive items, or discounted rates. Here are the relevant dates and perks tied to Magic Key status:
•Pre-sale for Oogie Boogie Bash tickets — Magic Key holders can purchase tickets before the general public on certain days for limited seating/events.
•Merchandise discounts — Magic Key passholders get their passholder discount on select Halloween merchandise.
•Exclusive or limited-quantity items — Some items (sippers, pins, shirts) are limited in quantity and reserved or available earlier for Key holders. (e.g. the Kuzco Poison Sipper is limited, and the Happy Halloween Magic Key shirt etc. are Magic Key-focused.)
•Photo ops / Magic Shots as noted above (New Orleans Square, etc.). These are complimentary digital photo downloads during specified times for Key holders.
•Hotel and dining offers — The themed hotel experiences (decor, treat trails, hotel-themed events) are available, and Magic Key holders can also take advantage of special offers for stays (discounted nights, special packages) during the fall and Halloween periods.
Things to Keep an Eye On & What to Plan For

1.Mark key dates early
•August 17: Some exclusive offers started (e.g. Kuzco Poison Sipper, Oogie Boogie Bash).
•August 22: Halloween Time officially begins; many more offerings roll out.
•September 30: Some exclusive photo ops and Magic Key offerings run through this date.
2.Get presale tickets when possible
If you want to attend Oogie Boogie Bash, try to use your Magic Key presale access. Tickets can sell out quickly.
3.Watch for limited items
Items like special sippers, pins, or shirts are often available in limited quantity. If there’s something you really want (especially with exclusivity or early release for Magic Key holders), it’s smart to get it early.
4.Plan for hotels if staying overnight
The hotels have special Halloween-related amenities and treats. Booking early helps, especially for special room decor, themed in-room celebrations, or treat trails. Discounts may also be available for Magic Key holders.
5.Check park reservation availability and blockout dates
Magic Key passes require park reservations; blockout dates might apply depending on the tier of your pass. If possible, make reservations as early as you can.

Why September 30 Is Significant
The August 22 through September 30 window is especially important because:
