NASHVILLE, TN — The Tennessee Titans have already made waves this offseason under new general manager Mike Borgonzi, but insiders believe there’s still one more move that could complete their defensive rebuild: signing free agent linebacker Kyzir White.
Borgonzi, who arrived from the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs after 16 years in the front office, has wasted no time in reshaping a roster that stumbled to a league-worst 3–14 finish in 2024.
Among the most notable moves:
•Releasing former Pro Bowl EDGE Harold Landry III
•Signing veteran linebacker Cody Barton from Denver
•Bringing in OL Dan Moore Jr., and veteran WRs Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson to support rookie QB Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Still, there’s concern at inside linebacker — a void ESPN’s Aaron Schatz believes Kyzir White could fill perfectly.
“The Titans don’t really have a lot of inside linebackers they can trust,” Schatz wrote. “Nobody other than Barton played more than 10.5% of defensive snaps last year. A strong veteran to play up the middle would be a big help, and White is still out there.”
White, a seven-year NFL veteran, was a two-time team captain for the Arizona Cardinals under head coach Jonathan Gannon and one of the franchise’s most reliable defenders. Over his career with Arizona, Philadelphia, and the Los Angeles Chargers, White has tallied:

•34 tackles for loss
•7.5 sacks
•6 interceptions
•23 passes defended
•2 forced fumbles
Titans insider Easton Freeze also flagged linebacker as one of the team’s weakest spots entering camp, especially after the loss of Kenneth Murray and the uncertainty surrounding younger depth players.
At this point in the offseason, White is unlikely to command top-dollar — making him a low-risk, high-reward option who could seamlessly slot into defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson’s scheme.
If Borgonzi pulls the trigger, this could go down as another smart, stabilizing move in a critical year for the Titans’ rebuild.
