Collingwood Moves to Extend Key Forward’s Career With Fresh Deal

In a show of faith to one of their most reliable forwards, Collingwood Football Club has officially tabled a one-year contract extension to Brody Mihocek, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2026 AFL season.

Mihocek, a premiership-winning Pie and fan favourite, continues to be a vital contributor inside 50, having kicked 24 goals from 12 games so far in the 2025 season. Known for his work rate, aerial presence, and toughness, the 32-year-old has proven age is just a number, and Collingwood clearly believes he still has more to offer in their forward structure.

🏉 A Late Bloomer, Still Going Strong

Mihocek’s journey to the AFL is one of perseverance. Debuting in 2018 as a mature-age recruit at 25 years old after years of hard work in the VFL, Mihocek quickly cemented himself as a consistent goal-kicker and selfless team player. Fast forward to 2023, he was part of Collingwood’s drought-breaking premiership side, playing a crucial role in their grand final campaign.

His late entry into the league has given him a different perspective — one that fuels his desire to keep going. Now with 149 career games under his belt, Mihocek is set to play his 150th game milestone this Saturday when the Magpies face West Coast at Marvel Stadium.

🔒 Veteran Stability Amid Youth

With the club investing in youth while still valuing experienced heads, Mihocek stands alongside other veterans at Collingwood who are eager to continue beyond 2025. This new deal would ensure leadership and experience remain embedded within a squad that’s been transitioning post-flag.

The offer also highlights the club’s belief in Mihocek’s durability and professionalism — traits that have become synonymous with his name at the Holden Centre.

👀 What’s Next?

While a formal agreement is yet to be finalized, the signs are strong that Mihocek and the Magpies are aligned in vision. His form, fitness, and goal output speak for themselves — and with 150 games and counting, Brody Mihocek isn’t done yet.
