Titans Reshape Offense After Disastrous 2025 Campaign
The Titans’ 2025 season was a forgettable one, as the team struggled to a 3-14 finish, tied for the worst record in the league. Their offensive woes were especially glaring — Tennessee ranked near the bottom in nearly every major statistical category, including points per game, total yards, and rushing efficiency.
Second-year quarterback Will Levis bore the brunt of the blame, often looking overwhelmed and inconsistent behind a shaky offensive line and lacking skill-position support. In response, newly appointed general manager Mike Borgonzi wasted no time in addressing the quarterback position with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting dynamic Miami signal-caller Cam Ward.
Ward, fresh off a standout senior season in which he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns, is expected to start immediately and inject life into Tennessee’s dormant offense.
Elijah Mitchell Brings Versatility and Experience
Adding Elijah Mitchell gives the Titans a proven, versatile backfield option who has shown flashes of brilliance when healthy. The 26-year-old was originally drafted by the 49ers in 2021 and enjoyed a breakout rookie season, rushing for 963 yards despite missing several games due to injury. He later spent time with the Eagles, where he contributed in a complementary role behind D’Andre Swift.
Now in Tennessee, Mitchell will likely be featured more prominently, possibly as the lead back in a revamped offensive scheme built to support Ward’s development. His ability to contribute both as a runner and receiver out of the backfield adds a valuable dimension to new head coach Brian Callahan’s offense.
