Treylon Burks, Former First-Round Pick, Parts Ways with Tennessee Titans After Disappointing Three Seasons
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and wide receiver Treylon Burks have agreed to part ways after three underwhelming NFL seasons, marking the end of a turbulent chapter that began with high expectations and ended in unfulfilled promise.
Burks, the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, was selected as a direct replacement for star wideout A.J. Brown, who was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in a highly controversial move by then-General Manager Jon Robinson. The trade was widely criticized, especially as Brown went on to become an All-Pro and Super Bowl champion, while Burks struggled to make a consistent impact.
Injuries plagued much of Burks’ young career. Since entering the league, he has appeared in just 27 games over three seasons, often sidelined by a combination of knee, toe, and concussion-related issues. Even when healthy, the former Arkansas standout failed to establish himself as a reliable playmaker in the Titans’ offense.
Over three seasons, Burks managed just 53 receptions for 699 yards and one touchdown—a far cry from the expectations placed on a first-round pick. His lack of production, paired with ongoing health concerns, made it increasingly difficult for Tennessee to justify his role in the offense.

While Brown blossomed into one of the league’s most dominant receivers in Philadelphia, the Titans were left scrambling for answers in their receiving corps.
