Netflix has officially announced the global release date for its highly anticipated documentary chronicling the life, legacy, and untold story of legendary Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair. Titled “Air McNair: The Heart of a Titan,” the documentary is set to premiere worldwide on August 16, 2025 — a date chosen to coincide with what would have been McNair’s 52nd birthday.
The film promises to be the definitive look into the life of one of the NFL’s most respected and complex figures, delving into his rise from humble beginnings in Mississippi to NFL MVP, and his tragic death that shocked the sports world in 2009.

Produced by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Ezra Edelman (known for O.J.: Made in America) and backed by NFL Films, the documentary blends never-before-seen archival footage, exclusive interviews with McNair’s family, teammates, coaches, and opponents, as well as newly uncovered personal recordings and journals.
