The Tennessee Titans are reportedly eyeing a high-upside addition to their defensive front, and it could come by way of a surprising trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. According to Sterling Xie of Pro Football Network, defensive end Tyree Wilson, a former top-10 draft pick, has been named as a potential trade target for Tennessee — a move that could help fill a major void in the Titans’ pass-rushing unit.
Selected 7th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Wilson arrived in Las Vegas with enormous expectations, thanks to his size, athleticism, and upside as an edge disruptor. However, his production has fallen short of expectations through two seasons, totaling just 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his rookie year, and 27 tackles with 4.5 sacks in his sophomore campaign.
Still, the Titans may view Wilson as a reclamation project with elite potential — especially with former Raiders GM Dave Ziegler now serving as Tennessee’s assistant general manager. Ziegler was responsible for drafting Wilson in 2023, and the connection could play a key role in a possible trade.
“Ziegler knows what Wilson is capable of, and Tennessee certainly needs more edge rusher help,” Xie wrote, noting that the Titans’ pass rush struggled last season, finishing with just 32 total sacks.
Making matters worse, Tennessee lost its top pass rusher, Harold Landry, this offseason — a player responsible for 9.5 sacks in 2024. While the Titans could address the edge position in the upcoming NFL Draft, most projections have them taking quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick, potentially leaving a glaring hole on defense.
Fortunately, the 2025 draft class is deep at edge, but adding a young, physically gifted talent like Wilson could offer immediate upside without relying solely on rookie production.
It remains to be seen whether the Raiders are willing to move on from Wilson after just two seasons, but with a new regime in Las Vegas and limited impact from their former first-rounder, a trade could benefit both sides.
Stay tuned as draft week approaches — this could be one of the most intriguing storylines to watch.
